About McClostone

Started in 2014, McClostone specializes in collaborative custom amplifier building. The focus is on the player and how they want their amp to sound and look. Many of our builds are based on classic amps of the 50’s and 60’s, but with some tweaking to make them more versatile and fit each clients needs. Each amp is built with the utmost care and craftsmanship.

McClostone amps use the highest quality parts including Heyboer and Classictone Transformers, Mallory and Sprague capacitors, Weber Speakers, and other premium components.

About Aaron

Massachusetts native Aaron McCloskey first picked up the guitar in college and has rarely put it down since. He began studying jazz, blues, and folk music, but quickly discovered his passion for bluegrass. Aaron graduated from the commercial music program at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, where he honed his bluegrass chops with Joe Carr and Alan Munde.

Aaron maintains a busy schedule playing with front range bluegrass band “Wood Belly”.  Wood Belly won the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition in 2018 and have quickly become one of Colorado’s top bluegrass acts. He also regularly performs solo and duo shows with a variety of talented musicians. Aaron was featured in the May 2010 issue of “Flatpicking Guitar Magazine” for his work with “Steve Smith and Hard Road”. Aaron lives in Berthoud, Colorado where he can be found hiking, fly-fishing, and teaching guitar and banjo at his home.
